Kelvin Donaldson

Originally from Dumfries, Kelvin is now a fully-fledged lover of Edinburgh. Despite travelling widely, he still hasn’t found anywhere else he'd rather live. Always a city full of great historic buildings & spaces, it is wonderful to see the emergence of modern buildings in this context.

He qualified from Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh College of Art) in 1984 specializing in Urban design, and have worked exclusively from his adopted home city ever since. His work experience developed from common repairs and commercial development in the 80s until he formed Gilberts (then Gilbert Associates) with George in 1992.

He loves architecture, being an architect and running a business. He wish to see Gilberts expand into new market sectors and to continue building on its reputation for value delivery to create ever more confident, contemporary architecture.
