PROJECT: Platinum Point
LOCATION: Western Harbour, Edinburgh
CLIENT: Gregor Shore PLC
STATUS: Completed 2008
DESCRIPTION: A development of 226 flats as part of the masterplan for the redevelopment of the Western Harbour breakwater.
The masterplan for the site called for residential buildings rising from 6 storeys to a 14-storey tower at the north corner of the site arranged in a complete city block around a sheltered landscaped courtyard
The flats are a mixture of duplex and single storey units, all with balconies and terraces and most enjoying stunning views either over the Forth or back across the Edinburgh skyline.
The majority of parking on the site is within an enormous underground car park with covers the entire site. Trees are planted at car park level which grow through courtyard deck allowing ventilation, daylight and greenery into the space below.
